Hearings and Mediation Department

IPOS HMD hears disputes filed at IPOS, primarily trade mark oppositions, invalidations and revocations. HMD also manages cases by conducting case management conferences and pre-hearing reviews before a dispute reaches a full hearing, to encourage amicable settlement where possible, or to streamline disputes for efficient adjudication.

Aside from managing and adjudicating IP disputes, HMD also actively reviews policies and processes to keep them relevant and user-friendly.

In this workshop, the HMD team will share with participants some of the best practices in contentious trade mark proceedings at IPOS and other useful practice points.
