In support of Singapore’s bid to become a Smart Nation, IPOS, in conjunction with the National Research Foundation (NRF), undertook a Patent Analytics study to capture a snapshot of the worldwide and Singapore patent landscape.
With patents at the forefront of the product life-cycle, patent information is often a lead indicator of both technological advances as well as commercial value. Through Patent Analytics, IPOS sought to derive insights from the patent dataset to answer one crucial question: Moving ahead in this innovation-centric world, how can Singapore tap on new opportunities to complement its existing strengths?
With insights on both global and local patenting trends, the report aims to help Singapore companies pivot on the strengths of our local innovators, towards a Smart Nation.
