Programme Details
Course Emphasis

The emphasis of the Course is on practical work. Following each lecture session, students break out into groups of about six people to work on an exercise.
The exercise is then discussed at a plenary session before the next lecture or workshop begins.

At the conclusion of the first segment, students are given four drafting exercises to work on, one at a time, approximately every five weeks. These will be assessed by the tutors, who will send written comments to the students.

The Course requires students to attend in-person segments, One and Three, and complete all assignments set in segment Two.
A certificate confirming satisfactory completion of the Course will be delivered
to the students who meet these requirements.

Chun-Ping Yu

Section Manager

This course was totally different from other patent drafting courses on which I had participated. Even though I was already an experienced patent engineer and had been trained in a law firm for over eight years, this course really brought me a lot of benefits. The whole course was indeed well designed, from an initial idea of defining a concept of invention, to the writing skill for drafting a complete patent specification, this course [was] very useful from my work and also has broadened my vision and perspective about patent drafting. Strongly recommended for any experienced patent engineers or attorneys to join!

Constantinos Kilimiris

Partner at Patrinos & Kilimiris

This course offered me an excellent opportunity to work together with tutors having very strong experience in both patent prosecution and teaching. It gave me a solid background on the art of patent drafting, provided me with a unique opportunity to examine the same invention under a European, U.S. or Japanese perspective and helped me enormously to improve my patent drafting skills.
